Kelly's music career began in 1995 and she became a successful Hong Kong female singer. She won the "Most Popular Female Singer" from Jade Solid Gold in 1999 and 2000. The "Most Popular Asian-Pacific Female Singer" award was also dominated by Kelly from 2001 to 2006.
On October 2, 2008, Kelly married Alex Lau. Almost a year later, she gave birth to her son Chace Lau.
